SHLOK GAYAN COMPETITION

(CLASS III-V)

Sanskrit is the most ancient language. It is called the mother of all other languages. The beauty and functionality of Sanskrit is appreciated not only in India but all over the world. Infact NASA considers Sankrit pivotal for learning computers! As a recognition and celebration of this beautiful language, DAV Public School, Sector-49 celebrated a Shlok Gayan competrition on 12.10.2018. All the participants recited a medley of inspirational shloks with great fervour. They impressed the judges with their choice of shloks, clarity of pronunciation and lucid explanation of the shloks. Aaliya and Vaishnavi of Neeti House bagged the First and Second prize respectively, Garima of Kirti House won the third prize and Kunal Yadav of Jagriti House was given the Encouragement prize.

RANGOLI COMPETITION

(CLASS III-V)

Rangoli is an art form, originating in the Indian subcontinent, in which patterns are created on the floor or the ground using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals. It is a traditional form of art done especially during festivals such as Diwali, Pongal and other Hindu festivals. On 05.11.18 a Rangoli competition was organised in our school. It was a group competition in which eight participants from each house participated. The students worked together and made big and attractive rangolis on the ground. Everything from the choice of designs, use of colours, materials used to the messages coveyed were praiseworthy. In the end Gaurakshi, Nehul, Aarav Jain, Shreya, Tanvi Parida, Mahi, Pravika Veen,Gauransh of Neeti House bagged the First prize and Harshita Khator, Jhanvi Sharma, Shreya Tyagi, Ishita Goel, Ritika, Mahi, Aditri Pankey, Lavanya of Kirti House bagged the Second prize. The winners won the judges' hearts with their out of the ordinary designs and neat presentations.
