CELEBRATION OF WORLD HERITAGE DAY

On the occasion of World Heritage day, DAV Public School, Uppal’s Southend, Sector-49, Gurugram organized a plethora of competitions for the students of Middle and Senior wing. It was a weeklong celebration with an aim to raise awareness among students about the diversity of cultural heritage across the globe and also to sensitize them to protect the heritage sites.

The students of Grade VI participated in an Inter House Competition- Quarantine Trip. In their presentations, they presented virtual tour to various Historical monuments by using Google Earth App. The responsible learners of grade VII participated in an Inter House Competition- Herbiment. They designed various historical monuments with help of useful herbs and also explained the importance of these herbs in day to day life. The students of Grade VIII participated in an Inter House Competition- Bhawan Bhuvan. In this, they showed various Heritage Sites by using ISRO Bhuvan App. The students of Grade IX and X participated in an Inter Class Logo Designing Competition. The students designed Logos on the topics- Conservation of Natural Heritage, Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Conservation of Monuments along with taglines.

The school Principal, Ms. Charu Maini appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged them to be the torch bearers for preserving our cultural Heritage.

The Winners of the Competitions were:

Quarantine Trip: Kabir Dixit (VI A)- First Position (Jagriti House)

Herbiment: Shrishti Yadav (VII D)- First Position (Preeti House) and  Vanika Kamboj (VII E)- First Position ( Kirti House)

Bhawan Bhuvan: Srishti Singh (VIII D)- First Position ( Kirti House)

Logo Designing:

Vanshaj Arora (XA)- First Position

Rishika  Arora (XB)- Second Position

Tishya Nayak (IXA)- Third Position
