DAV Public School, Uppal’s Southend, Sector-49, Gurugram always believes in social upliftment and work for humanity. In this regard, our school has joined hands with Health Department, Gurugram to take India on the road of safety and wellbeing. The school has been converted into Vaccination Centre from 31 May 2021. The centre will be operational from 10:00 am onwards as per the government’s instructions and availability of vaccines.

The drive began in the presence of Dr. M.P. Singh, District Immunization Officer along with Dr. Jai Prakash Singh, DSO, Dr. Hardeep Singh Incharge of UPHC Tigara and staff of health department. The school Principal, Ms. Charu Maini remained there throughout the day for the smooth functioning of the drive. She always believes that these initiative inculcates a sense of empathy in the young generation.

For an unbiased and uninterrupted administration of the vaccine, the school devised a unique sticker token system which was pasted on the hands of beneficiaries as they entered the premises. As soon as the tokens were distributed the announcement was made for the rest people to avoid the chaos. These tokens were distributed on first come first serve basis. The police officials and Civil Defence Persons were also available to manage the crowd. Two hundred people from age group 18-44 got benefitted today and same will continue in future too as per the availability of the Vaccine and government’s instructions.

The school was embellished with posters and selfie point and people were taking selfie to show their enthusiasm after getting vaccinated. DIO, Dr MP Singh interacted with beneficiaries, asked them about their experience and also sensitised them about covid protocol. It was a smooth sail and we wish that soon India will be a Corona Free Country.
