LET’S SAVE THE LIFE LINES OF CIVILIZATION

Indian rivers are at dangerous levels of depletion. There is a dire need to save these sources of life. The present condition of rivers presents a grim situation and warning for future. It’s high time that we understand the need to save our rivers and educate children about the same. On 27 September 2017; D.A.V. Public School, sector-49, Gurugram; organised a special assembly to support the nationwide campaign “Rally for Rivers” started by Sadhguru, the founder of Isha foundation.

The students and teachers of the school took the initiative to create awareness about this. The school choir presented a melodious song motivating the students to save rivers. A heart warming skit, highlighting the plight of rivers, was presented by the students. The programme also included a speech on the importance of rivers and the measures to be taken to conserve river water and reduce pollution.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Charu Maini encouraged the students to contribute for the noble cause by creating awareness in their locality. All the students were asked to show their support by giving a missed call to the number 8000980009. The programme culminated with a pledge taking ceremony in which the school promised to support the campaign wholeheartedly.
