D.A.V. Public School, Sector -49, Gurugram, believes in inculcating values in the innocent minds of the future leaders. In this endeavour we have joined our hands with IMCT Foundation. Initiative for Moral and Cultural Training (IMCT) programs train the children to instil values and connect them to symbols and symbolisms that are very essential for retaining and remembering values.

An Inter School Event in collaboration with IMCT  was organised on 17.11.17 in our school premises in a befitting manner. The triumph was made possible by the relentless efforts of the school principal, Ms. Charu Maini. The chief guest, Dr. Rajshri Singh, I.G., Crime Branch, Gurugram was the esteemed guest of honour. Dr.Pawan Kumar, District Nodal Health Officer, Gurugram, Mr. Pradeep Kumar, IMCT Secretary and Ms. Aparna Erry, Principal DAV, Sec-14 were amongst the other dignitaries.

The event started off with the auspicious lighting of lamp by the esteemed guests and the school principal, which was followed by bhoomi mangalam. The event of the day-long program included Patriotic Song Competition, Folk Song Competition, Speech and Extempore. Three hundred and fifty students from twenty eight schools of Gurugram participated in this grand event. The participants from classes VI to XII put forth their enthralling performances.

Through this event, students presented a harmonious ensemble of the epic that sculpted morals and rich legacy of Indian traditions. In Patriotic Song Competition, the students of Lord Jesus School, Gurgram proved their metal by grabbing first position and the melodious singers of DAV Public School, Sector-49, Gurugram, won second position. In Folk Song Competition Sucheta Memorial School, Gurugram grabbed the first position and Rockford Convent School stood second. Tanya of Royal Public School, Gurugram presented her ideas beautifully and secured first position in Speech Competition,Harshita Gogia of DAV Public School, Sector-49, Gurugram also expressed her thoughts and seured second position. In Extempore Tanya Yadav of DAV Public School, Sector-49, Gurugram faced a tough competition and stood first on the basis of her fluency and orchestrated thoughts and Aakriti of DAV Sector-14, Gurugram grabbed second position.

The winners in various competitions received prizes from the guests. The school principal,  Ms. Charu Maini congratulated the winning teams and thanked the IMCT team for organising such a great event. She also remarked that these kinds of events aim to bring forth the culture and tradition of India in all its glory.
