D.A.V Public School, Sector-49, Gurugram keeps looking forward to join hands with the parents for a better future of the students. Keeping the same in view, a workshop was organized for the parents of class X and XII students on “How to Help Children Manage Exams Effectively” on 18 November 2017. The speaker Ms. Jasmine Arora, Clinical Psychologist from Fortis Mental Health Department, Gurugram suggested various tips for better study during exams. She advised that parents should motivate students to set realistic goals, to take adequate breaks, to avoid electronic gadgets during breaks and to revise the topics thoroughly for better result. She told the parents to stop comparisons with other children, to motivate children to have fixed study routine and to provide students healthy and nutritious diet during exams. The Principal, Ms. Charu Maini, also shared valuable parenting tips with the parents. She advised parents to avoid constant nagging, to respect and celebrate the individuality of every child, to understand their capabilities and to ensure that they get a congenial environment so that they can explore their potential to the fullest. She told the parents to be role models for the children. The workshop was an enriching and ennobling experience for the parents.
