ORIENTATION PROGRAMME- PRE-NURSERY, L.K.G.

Parents can make a significant contribution in enriching their child's development by building their confidence and self-esteem. Their involvement and support is essential for a child's progress in scholastic and co-scholastic areas.

Keeping this in mind, D.A.V. Public School, Sector 49, Gurugram organised an Orientation Programe on 11^th March 2018 to welcome the students and parents of Pre-Primary wing.

The programme was conducted by Dr. Romila Soni, Senior Assistant Professor, N.C.E.R.T (Early Childhood And Primary Education) to create awareness among the parents and to highlight the do's and dont's of parenting.

The focus of the discussion was on parent involvement in the formative years and significant impact it has on the educational achievement of a child.

It was a momentous occasion to see the overwhelming response from the parents and their active participation during the interactive session.

During the interactive session, Professor Soni said that children need a caring, stimulating and nurturing environment to grow and learn. She further added that free play is essential for child's development and for learning life skills. It helps children to grow in curiosity, competence and confidence.

Dr. Soni also quoted “Words are the most powerful play material for children and spending quality time in meaningful interaction stimulates and boosts their thinking capability.”

Honourable Principal expressed her gratitude to the parents for having faith and confidence in the institution. The Orientation Programme turned out to be a very informative and enriching experience for all and everyone left with new hopes for the new journey. It left a grave impact on the minds of the parents who already began planning to re-structure their home evironments to benefit their children with a complete focus on positive parenting.
