“Art is an effort to create, beside the real world, a more humane world..”
To inspire the students by experiencing the mysticism embodied in the rich Indian culture, D.A.V. Public School, sector-49, Gurugram, in collaboration with SPIC MACAY, organized the performance of the leading Kathak dancer, Ms. Monisa Nayak. The programme was conducted with the objective to enrich the quality of formal education by increasing awareness about different aspects of Indian culture and inspiring the students to imbibe the values embedded in it. The event was attended by students and teachers of different schools. Mr. H.L Bhatia, member of School Management Committee graced the occasion with his presence.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the exemplary kathak dance maestro Ms. Monisa Nayak, Mr. Bhatia, Ms. Archana Prasad and the Principal of the school, Mrs. Charu Maini. Ms. Nayak not only enthralled the audience with her superlative performance but also conducted a dance orientation programme for the students by providing valuable information about the dance. Her excellent command of rhythm and her natural flair for profound expressions left the audience mesmerized and elevated to a higher state of consciousness. With her graceful movements, supple footwork, expressive eyes and deep insight, she could bind the students to art and culture and gave them a reason to feel proud of their rich soil.
