ANNUAL SPORTS MEET “Fasten your laces, toes behind the line.. Sun is shining, it’s Sports Day time..” On 19.05.18, there was more energy, freshness and vibrance in the air as our school organised Annual Sports Meet- celebrating Health and Happiness. Shri Vinay Pratap Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram graced the occasion with his presence as the chief guest. Among the other dignified guests were- Dr. B.K Rajora, CMO of Gurugram, Dr. Shashi , Deputy CMO of Gurugram, Dr. Neelam Thapar, District Immunization Officer, Mr. Rao Jaswant Singh, Editor, Times of India and Mrs. Aparna Erry, the Principal, DAV Sec-14, Gurugram. It was quite overwhelming to see everyone dressed up in sports attire at 6.30 a.m. all charged up to make the most of the day. The event began with releasing of balloons by the distinguished guests to embark the success of achieving 100% MR Vaccination in our school. The event was also attended by the parents of the students who came to motivate young sportsmen and bless them to achieve more such laurels in future not only for their family and school but also for the country. The audience was enthralled to see the mesmerising performance of the students as they presented welcome dance and zumba. A special mass drill and a yoga session were organised not only to showcase the fitness regime of the students but also to spread the message of adopting ‘aarogya’ living. The entire ground was reverberating with the cheering of the students as they encouraged the athletes to give their best in track events. The Principal of the school, Mrs. Charu Maini presented the Sports Annual Report of the session 2017-18 to apprise the audience of the achievement of the students at different levels. The chief guest Mr. Vinay Pratap Singh addressed the students and motivated them to keep learning as there is no age to quit learning. The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony where the young sports achievers were honoured and conferred with medals for their achievements.
