Hindi Month Celebration:

The Primary Wing of D.A.V. P. S, SEC-49 celebrated the Hindi Language by organising a Hindi month in the month of July wherein many literary competitions were held and Hindi language related activities were organised. It was a month of flurry and excitement, with the children being fruitfully engaged in various tasks related to the Hindi language.

Hindi Class Activity

The Hindi month celebrations started with a class activity titled 'Rang Rangeela Mera Bharat'. This was a mass activity held on 6 July. In this activity the classes were allotted Hindi months and they had to bring pictures, interesting facts related to those months to decorate the display boards outside their classrooms. All the sections of classes III to V participated in this activity in immense enthusiasm. The children created colourful eye-catching collages highlighting the specialties of each month. By the end of this activity all the classroom display boards came alive with the vivid depiction of the sights, colours and festivities of each month!

Hindi Group Song Competition

A Hindi Group Song Competition was organised on 13 July. It was an inter-house competition in which the children exhibited their singing talent and beautifully sang melodies dealing with devotional themes. The environment in the auditorium became devout, holy and pristine as the air resonated with devotional songs. While one group sang hymns of Lord Krishna, another mesmerised the audience with hymns about Lord Rama. The competition which went on for more than one hour kept the audience as well as the judges enthralled. The young talent that was showcased was indeed impressive and the participating groups won everyone's heart. The judges had a tough time choosing the winners! Finally Kirti House was declared the winners and Preeti House was given the Encouragement award.

Kathputli ke Khel

William Shakespeare rightly said,“All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances.” The Hindi month celebration which culminated with the 'Kathputli ke Khel' competition on 31July beautifully brought into light the myriad emotions of men as they go through the various stages of life. Each play dealt with socially relevant issues like women empowerment, conservation of trees, the importance of reading books/education, the importance of being honest and truthful, how greed leads to one's own destruction, to the significance of wit and humour in our life. This inter-house competition was a dramatic extravaganza that offered the perfect platform to the children to showcase their acting talent. The gripping storylines of the plays, the colourful costumes and the acting acumen of the performers – all came together to create magic on the stage that left the audience as well as the judges spellbound. All the performances were so good that in the end the judges chose two houses as winners – Shakti House won the First prize and Neeti House won the second prize. Bhumit of Class 4B won the Best Actor award and Utkarsh of Class 5C was given the Encouragement award.
