Inaugration of Atal Tinkering Lab and Tinkerfest-2019

In an endeavor to inculcate and develop scientific temperament in the young learners of today. , DAV Public School ,Sec 49, Gurugram proudly set its steps into the noble mission of  giving its students a platform to play with Science and Technology, witnessed the inauguration of the  Atal Tinkering Lab and celebrated Tinker Fest on  August 2, 2019 and  August 3, 2019. .With a vision to cultivate one million child innovators in India, Atal Innovation Mission  by NITI Aayog and Government of India  envisaged a novel programme  - establishment of Atal Tinkering Laboratories in schools across the country.

The Atal Tinkering Lab was inaugurated by the honourable guests, Mrs Prem Lata, DEEO (District Elementary Education Officer) and DEO (District Education Officer), Mr Yogesh Munjal, Vice Chairman, DAVPS, Sec 49 Local Managing Committee, Mr V.P Bajaj, Chairman, Building Sub Committee DAVPS, Sec 49 and Managing Director, Bajaj Motors and Mrs Adarsh Kohli, Manager, DAVPS, Sec 49, Gurugram.The dignitaries proceeded to symbolically inaugurate the Laboratory  by  ribbon cutting ceremony.

The opening ceremony of the event  commenced seeking the divine graces through Lighting of Lamp . This was followed by an exuberant welcome dance by the budding artists. A presentation was showcased by ATL incharge to enlighten about the ATL lab. The school Principal, Mrs Charu Maini addressed the young minds present and  wished the students many happy hours of tinkering. The honourable guest , Mrs Prem Lata  also addressed  and motivated students  to tinker the lab.  She also stressed on usage of Science and Technology for the betterment of human race  thus conveying a strong message of employing discarded resources for creating useful ones. Thereafter, The young innovators enthusiastically presented the science models and  handled the queries of the guest and audience with great confidence and zeal.

It is rightly said that “Every End Has a New Beginning”. The school held the closing ceremony of Tinker Fest on August 3, 2019. It commenced by according the honourable judges Mr Ojasvi Khare, Physics Lecturer at Ashoka University , Mr Arnav Prasad, persuing Physics at University of Oxford and Mr Sidharth Saluja, the Alumni, DAVPS, Sec 49, persuing Artificial Intelligence from University of Massachusetts with a green welcome. This was followed by a motivational speech by Mr Ojasvi Khare where he spoke in length about Science and Technology and how it has benefitted human race.  The school Principal, Mrs Charu Maini and judges conferred the students with prizes for displaying their innovative robots, thus showing their skills in handling Science and Technology. All students inculcated skills  such as design mind set, computational thinking, adaptive  learning and much more. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of students thus making it a huge success.
