One such activity was the installation of the compost pit in the school premises. Initiating the activity, Dr. Livleen Shukla, Principal Scientist of Microbiology Division, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI PUSA), enlightened the students of our school on composting by using green waste from the school. An awareness session was conducted where Dr. Shukla apprised the students about the benefits of organic farming, hazards of plastic products and how to make compost at home itself. The school compost pit is highly beneficial and its maintenance is a regular feature at the school, to make the students socially and environmentally responsible. After all, “Recycling takes a little effort on your part, but makes a big difference to the world.”
