Science Fest- QUEST 2020-21

On 15 February 2021, DAV Public School, Sector-49, Gurugram organised an online Science Fest- QUEST. During the present times, when the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the regular functioning of schools, conceptualizing and organising a Science Fest on such a grand scale is no small feat at all! This amazing effort by the teachers and the students proves beyond any doubt that no matter what the circumstances are, the school is always ready to face any challenge with positivity and continue to march forward with purpose.

The program started with the singing of the school anthem and the lighting of lamp. The distinguished guests of the function were Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director(Skill Education and Training)CBSE, Mr. Prabodh Mahajan, Vice President, DAVCMC and Chairman, DAV Public School, Sector-49, Gurugram, Dr.(Mrs.)Nisha Peshin, Director(PS II) DAVCMC, Mrs. Adarsh Kohli, Manager, School LMC. The program was also graced by Mrs. Anita Makkar, principal of HDFC school.

The Science Fest was a grand program in which a great number of students from grades III to V participated with full enthusiasm. Ms. Charu Maini, the principal of the school welcomed all the distinguished guests with immense joy. In her address she advised all the students to enjoy the Science Fest and take this opportunity to learn new things and develop their thinking skills. While on one hand the students exemplified experiential learning by showcasing various scientific experiments and models, on the other hand their artistic posters and rap songs managed to strike a cord with the whole audience and won praise from everyone.

Dr. Biswajit Saha congratulated all the participants for their amazing presentations and inspired them to continue with their scientific endeavours. He advised the students to focus more on gaining practical learning rather than bookish knowledge. Dr.(Mrs.) Nisha Peshin appreciated Ms. Priya Bhandari, Supervisory Head Primary Wing, all the teachers and the students who made this wonderful program possible with their boundless enthusiasm, creativity and sincere efforts. She especially told all the educators to pose as many questions as possible to the students to ignite their inquisitive spirit. She also motivated the students to continue their association with the study of Science and told them to participate in similar events in the future. At the end, Ms. Charu Maini thanked all the guests, participating students and the audience for being a part of this program and making it such a success. In this way, even in such troubled times, the Science Fest was able to bring out the students’ talent, give them a platform to showcase their learning and creativity, boost their confidence and inspire them to continue with their scientific endeavours.
