Segregation of Waste

“There is no such thing as ‘AWAY’, when we throw anything away it must go somewhere.”

The students of class 12th Social Ties club organised a workshop on - ‘Segregation of Waste’ to create awareness amongst the students of class 11th, on 24 May, 2022.

They threw light on the importance of ‘waste segregation’ which is the need of the hour to reduce the garbage production that gets landfilled and the pollution being caused at an alarming rate.

The workshop commenced with a powerpoint presentation explaining the basic concept of ‘waste’ and ‘waste segregation’ and sensitising the audience about the consequences they’ll face if ‘waste segregation’ isn’t given the limelight. Furthermore, they were familiarized with the ‘Dustin Concept’ - how different kinds of waste have different coloured dustbins to be thrown in.

Moreover ,a short on - ‘ Waste Segregation in the local areas of Gurugram’ and ‘ How to Segregate Waste at household level’ was shown. To liven up the event, the students took over the stage and presented a zealous street play and then to test the audience, a small quiz was conducted to check their understanding.

At the end of the quiz, the lights turned off and as the spotlights shone over the stage, two students performed a fiery self-composed rap with powerful beat-boxing.

After the end of the power-packed performance the students were made to take a pledge on ‘Waste Segregation’.

Last but not least, the workshop was culminated by the encouraging words of wisdom by our Supervisory head, Ms. Pooja Yadav on the same.
