On the occasion of World Book Day, DAV Public School, Uppal's Southend, Sector 49, organised an Inter House competition - Character Parade on 26 April 2024, specifically tailored for the creative minds of grade 6 students. The event was a vibrant display of imagination and self-assurance as students transformed into beloved literary characters. 

 

Each house exhibited remarkable creativity in crafting costumes that perfectly captured the essence of their chosen characters. The stage came alive with lively performances, featuring dramatic monologues and engaging interactions that truly honoured the spirit of literature. Apart from the performances, non-participating students shared their favourite books and reasons behind their choices. This added depth to the event, showcasing diverse literary tastes among students and fostering a sense of community.

 

The school Principal Ma'am Charu Maini added to the festivities by sharing her favourite book and delivering a motivating message about the significance of reading for personal  growth. The event not only celebrated literature but also highlighted the talent and creativity of the students.

 

The winners of the competition were:

 

First Position: Shivanshi (Kirti house) as Lady Macbeth and Aarvi (Preeti House) as Kabuliwala.

 

Second Position: Aradhya (Jagriti house) as Willy Wonka.

 

Third Position: Chhavi (Kirti house) as Miss Havisham.
