Storytelling is the oldest form of education. It is a universal and traditional art form that has featured strongly in Indian culture as an effective communication tool.  It can be used to inform, entertain and educate. It is often used as a medium to ingrain values, improving reading skills and opening the minds of children to world beyond imagination

We at DAV Public School, Uppal's Southend, Sector-49, Gurugram, always try to pervade all aspects of learning amongst our students under umbrella of pertinent guidance of the Principal, Ms. Charu Maini.

 A story telling session was organised by the library staff of the school which was conducted by the enigmatic storyteller and founder of Kathashala, Mrs. Simi Srivastav, on 22 August 2017, who took the students on a journey of inspiration and motivation. The session was indeed valuable and distinct.  The storyteller built the mountain of tension and worry and ultimately eased it by adopting many actions to put across the message of ‘we shall overcome’ with creative gestures and facial expressions.. The workshop was culminated by giving a message to the students to redefine the definition of friendship and break the bonds of having groups of friends for approval and asked the students to replace it with group bonding and universal friendship.

The main objective of the workshop was to strengthen the appropriate use of voice modulation and body language infused passion, enhanced imagination and expression and introduced children to new horizons of storytelling.  The session  was really interactive where the students were taught the appropriate way of telling stories which will help the young minds to think out of the box.
