INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2021
Yoga rejuvenates the body and mind. A few minutes of Yoga during the day can be a great way to get rid of stress and promote a healthy living. Keeping in mind the physical and mental well being of our students, DAV Public School, Sec 49,Gurugram conducted yoga sessions ‘Health through Breath’ during the summer vacation for all the students and parents on the virtual platform. To mark the International Yoga Day and to keep it going, extended specialized yoga sessions were also organised for the students of all classes and the parents.
The yoga instructor, Ms Manju, took yoga sessions with great dedication. The students and parents participated with bursting interest, enthusiasm and eagerness.
To commemorate and celebrate *International Yoga Day*, an hour long *webinar* was organized on *21 June 2021* and made it LIVE on YOUTUBE for parents and students.
The session began by seeking the blessings of the Almighty and chanting the Gayatri Mantra followed Sang Chhadvam- Mil Ke Chalo. A series of breathing asanas such as Pranayam, Anulomvilom, Kapalbharti, Bhastrika, Sukhasan along with the various asanas to eradiacte cervical, back ache and to increase immunity gave a kick start to the program. Mr Yogesh added melody to the event by his charismatic Bhajan.
The school principal, Ms Charu Maini suggested all to make yoga an integral part of our daily life by extending the practice of yoga at our homes. She shared with all the achievements of our Yoga teacher Ms Manju who achieved first postion, and our students Vanshaj and Chaitanya got second and third positions respectively in Yoga competition organised by Haryana Yoga Association.
The overall session was very refreshing, reviving and relaxing giving students and parents a break from the monotonous and sedentary living.
Along with the yoga sessions for all, simple class wise activities were also designed for the whole month. Students enjoyed the sessions whole heartedly and got benefitted.
The school wishes to take this occurrence to express gratitude to the students and parents for joining the yoga practice and making the sessions all the more successful and valuable.
