Library & Information Science as a skill subject introduced by CBSE at Senior Secondary level aims to fulfill the requirement of developing necessary skills, in learners to identify, locate, evaluate and use the required information efficiently. Keeping the same in mind, DAV Public School, Uppal’s Southend, Sec 49, Gurugram organized a tour to Delhi University to make Library Science students aware about basic tools in library and information science, importance of library and career in library science.

Dr Shailender Kumar, Head of Library Science, DU apprised the students about prospects of career in this skill subject. He also  told them about future in library science in India as well as abroad and new online technologies introduced in libraries. This tour gave students an opportunity to know about the latest tools and techniques used in library especially in the field of IT. The tour made a powerful impact on students in both academic and personal fronts. It was indeed a fruitful experience for the young learners.
