LITERATURE CONCLAVE

A Literature Conclave was organized in collaboration with all the DAV schools of Cluster IV, Gurugram- DAV Public School, Sector-14, DAV Public School, Uppal's Southend, Sector-49, Gurugram, DAV Police Public School, Bhondsi and R.R.J.S. DAV Public School, Haily Mandi, as an attempt to make literature enthusiasts delve into myriad forms of writing on 5^th November 2022 at DAV Public School, Sector-14, Gurugram. Dr Nisha Peshin, Director, Public Schools, DAV College Managing Committee graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.  Ms. Prem Lata Garg, the Manager of DAV Public School, Sector-14, Gurugram presided over as the Guest of honour. Eminent dignitaries from different fields – media, literature, entertainment industry among others shared their experiences with the audience. The event was attended by Cluster IV Principals, administrative heads, students, teachers, parents and media personnel.

A cordial welcome was accorded to the guests followed by the DAV GAAN and a Saraswati Vandana performed by the students to invoke the blessings of goddess, Saraswati. Indian writer, poet, satirist, and famous TV personality Mr. Arun Gemini held the audience captivated. Media expert and motivational speaker, Mr. Sanjay Singh Baghel talked about various professional career options in the field of literature followed by a panel discussion between Ms. Aditi Maheshwari, the Executive Director, Hindi Publishing House, Vani Prakshan, RJ Raghu Raftaar, On-Air host of the prime time show on Kanpur Radio City and Ms. Prem Lata Garg, the Manager of the school, where they inspired students with their experiences.

Other programs included Author Talk sessions by famous author and alumnus and budding writers of DAV Public school, Sector-14 and Sector-49 Gurugram. The authors of the first student authorship book 'World in my Palm' of DAV Public School Sector -49 Gurugram - Aamya Dhingra, Aritra Chakrabarti, Chitra Gupta, Disha Jaiswal, Harshda Chhabra, Himakshi Kapoor, Krishna Yadav, Mishthi Kumar, Nitara Kataria, Priya Pandey, Renisha Arya, Ria Yadav, Shashwat Goyal, Vidhotma Yadav, all from grade XII and the Independent Authors of grade IX- Tanvi Chanana and Samridhi- authors of ‘Besties Forever’, Vanshika Saxena- author of Living a Joyful Life and Anika Joshi- poet of poem ‘My Mother’ published in the book ‘The Void’ were proud and elated  to share the stage with the luminaries. All the students were congratulated by ma'am Nisha Peshin and they also presented a copy of their book to the worthy guests.

The highlight of the event was the Colloquy of the Book ‘Let Them Fly: My Tryst with Kids’ written by Dr. Nisha Peshin. She spoke about literature and its impact on young minds and also provided a brief glimpse of her book by sharing a few stories and anecdotes.

The Principal of DAV Public School, Uppal Southend, Sector 49, Gurugram, Ms. Charu Maini inspired the students to take up literature passionately and take challenges to be future leaders. The event certainly ignited the spark for reading and writing in the young minds.
