TWIST A TALE

Human beings are natural-born storytellers. Since ancient times we have used storytelling as a medium of passing on values and learning to future generations.Children enjoy listening to stories and telling them. Storytelling improves their focus and attention, enriches their imagination and enhances their language and communication skills.

DAV Public School, Sector-49, Gurugram organised an inter-house storytelling competition for the students of Class IV on 26.04.23. It was a storytelling contest with a twist and hence named ‘Twist A Tale’. It was a selection-based competition in which three students from each section participated. The participants had to choose any interesting story and twist it either at the beginning, the middle or the end. They were also required to use innovative ways to narrate their twisted stories using appropriate props and costumes. All the participants were well prepared for the competition and wowed the judges as well as the audience with their unique choice of stories, imaginative twists, effective storytelling techniques, stage presence, colourful costumes and apt props. Choosing the winners was a pretty tough decision for the judges. Vaishnavi Aggarwal (IV B) from Preeti house won the First prize, Advika Dawara (IV C) from Preeti house won the Second prize, Kuval Grover (IV C) from Jyoti house won the Third prize and Shlok Chitlangya (IV D) from Jagriti house won the Encouragement prize.
