Blood Donation Camp

DAV Public School, Uppal's Southend, Gurugram, organised a Blood Donation Camp on August 19, 2023, in collaboration with the Red Cross Society and Civil Hospital, Gurugram. The camp was inaugurated by the school principal, Ms. Charu Maini. Addressing the gathering, she motivated attendees to embrace the vital skill of blood donation. Parents were extended invitations outlining the merits of donating blood and appealing for their active participation.

The event saw enthusiastic involvement from parents, alumni, staff, and local residents, epitomising the humanitarian ethos of DAV. Manasvi Singh, the school's first head girl and an alumna, took the lead by being the initial donor for the cause of blood donation. The donors found fit were happy to contribute in saving someone’s life. The collected units of blood made a meaningful impact especially during dengue season. Evident pride shone on the faces of students as they distributed certificates, badges, and refreshments to the donors.

Dr. Meenakshi Ganjoo Misri the in- house doctor of the school took care of all the donors by making them feel comfortable. Dr. Priyanka, the Chief Blood Bank Officer from Civil hospital and the Red Cross Society co-ordinator, Sh. Atul Kumar Parashar appreciated the efforts of the school for successfully motivating people and creating awareness about the benefits of donating blood. The school Principal, Ms. Charu Maini conveyed her heartfelt appreciation to all participants for their instrumental role in the camp's resounding success.
