On 21 September 2023, SPIC MACAY (Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) organised an Odisi dance recital at DAV  Public School, Sector-49, Gurugram. Mr. Bijay Sahoo, the founder director of Nakshyatra Gurukul, Bhubaneshwar, presented a scintillating performance with his troupe of Gotipua (meaning one boy) dancers. The most interesting part of Gotipua is 'Bandha Nrutya', a dance with acrobatic figures and movements. All the boys in the troupe were well trained in the traditional Indian 'Guru-Shishya Parampara' and presented the very demanding Gotipua dance with grace and perfection. The principal of the school, Ms. Charu Maini applauded the amazing talent, grace, stamina, and energy levels of the dancers, their mentor, Mr. Bijay Sahoo and the spirited performance by all the accompanying musicians. She felicitated all  the performers on stage and also expressed her gratitude to SPIC MACAY organisation for promoting an awareness of Indian culture in educational institutions throughout India.
