Handball Tournament 2023-24 - Opening Ceremony for CBSE North Zone II Handball Tournament 2023-24

DAV Public School Sector 49, Gurugram, is hosting CBSE North Zone II Handball Tournament 2023-24 for the under 19 Age category, for Boys and Girls, from 28 to 30th October. The Opening Ceremony for the same was held on 28 October 2023. The magnificent event started off with the March Past by participating teams followed by the Guard of Honour. The grand ceremony was attended by a diverse audience, students from four states- Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab, with 45 teams having almost 800 contestants.
The District Education Officer (DEO), Gurugram Captain Indu Boken, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Her presence added a sense of grandeur and gaiety to the event. The event was also attended by Mr. Brajraj Singh Gurjar, CBSE Observer from St. Paul’s Senior Secondary School, Meerut. Mr. Jaspal Singh, CBSE Technical Delegate from MGN Public School, UE-2, Jalandhar was also present along with other dignitaries.
The opening ceremony began with a mesmerizing yoga performance that emphasized the balance and flexibility of the human body. To infuse cultural essence into the ceremony, a Haryanvi dance performance was presented by the exuberant dancers from the host school. It was followed by an oath taking ceremony by the School’s Sports Captain.
DEO Captain Indu Boken delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting the significance of sports in education and motivated the participants. The school Principal, Ms. Charu Maini encouraged the young sports enthusiasts highlighting the importance of sportsmanship and fair play. After the balloon releasing ceremony, the Tournament was declared open by the honourable Chief Guest.
All the participating teams were introduced to the audience. The matches began amidst the cheers and applause of the spectators, creating an electrifying atmosphere.
