“Art is an effort to create, beside the real world, a more humane world..”

To inspire the students by experiencing the mysticism embodied in the rich Indian culture,  D.A.V. Public School, Uppal's Southend, Sector-49, Gurugram, in collaboration with SPIC MACAY, organized a Kathak Dance LEC DEM performed by renowned kathak dancer Pt. Rajendra Gangani accompanied by the musicians-  Mr. Ravi Sharma (Sitar), Mr. Vinod Gangani (Vocal/ harmonium), Mr.Deepak Arora (Padhant) and Mr. Kishor Gangani (Tabla) on 30.04.2024.

The programme was conducted with the objective to enrich the quality of formal education by increasing awareness about different aspects of Indian culture and inspiring the students to imbibe the values embedded in it. The event was attended by the parents of the students studying in the school and also the representatives of ten different schools.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the exemplary Music exponents, Ms. Rupi Mahindroo, Chairperson, SPICMACAY and the Principal of the school, Mrs. Charu Maini.

Pt. Rajendra Gangani not only enthralled the audience with his superlative performance but also conducted an orientation programme for the students by providing valuable information about the classical dance.    His excellent command of rhythm and natural flair for profound music and dance  left the audience mesmerized and elevated to a higher state of consciousness. He  could bind the students to our rich cultural heritage by making them understand how our dance forms create an everlasting impact and gave them a reason to feel proud of their rich soil.
