The Asthma Readiness Training program held at DAV Public School, Sector49, Gurugram on 26 November 2024 was a successful initiative which aimed at equipping teaching faculty and support staff with essential knowledge and skills to manage asthma emergencies effectively. This initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Lung Care Foundation, with a vision to create a safer, asthma-aware educational environment.
The program featured insightful sessions by esteemed experts. Ms. Kamla Dev, presented insights about the aim and objectives of Lung Care Foundation, Dr. Harshul Sharma, a public health expert and dentist, shared her expertise on asthma awareness, she suggested ways to identify asthma symptoms and triggers, and respond promptly and effectively during asthma emergencies. Dr. Megha Wazir, Assistant Manager of Programs at the Lung Care Foundation, provided practical tips and demonstrations for educators to effectively handle asthma episodes by taking adequate care in the crucial time. The School Doctor, Ms. Meenakshi Ganjoo facilitated the session and motivated the audience to foster inclusivity and empathy for students with asthma.
The esteemed Supervisory Heads presented planters as tokens of appreciation to the speakers. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Lung Care Foundation, guest speakers, and all participants for their enthusiastic involvement in the event. The event was a resounding success, leaving participants better equipped to handle asthma emergencies and fostering a culture of health and safety within the school.
