CLIMATE ACTION PROJECT
We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children. At DAV Public School, Sector 49, our students from KG to Class II enthusiastically participated in the Climate Action Project, exploring the causes, effects, and solutions to climate change. Through engaging videos, interactive discussions, and hands-on activities like Earth’s Emotions – Happy vs. Sad, Sort the Earth’s Choices, Clean Air Scavenger Hunt and Steps to a Greener World, and Pollution Relay Race, Global Warming Water Experiment, and Eco Colours, Eco Words, they discovered how local actions can have a global impact. The project focused on sustainable habits like energy conservation and the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle—encouraging our young learners to adopt eco-friendly practices.A highlight of the project was the collaboration with partner schools in Greece. Our KG students connected with the 4th Kindergarten Gastounis, led by Ms. Sofia Chreppa, to discuss the causes and effects of climate change on 24th October at 11:30 AM. Additionally, our Class 1 and 2 students had an engaging session with peers from the 1st Primary School of Agios Nikolaos, guided by Ms. Sofia Pagalou, to share solutions for climate change on 6th November at 11:30 AM. These exchanges, conducted under the guidance of our respected Principal Ma'am Ms. Charu Maini and Supervisory Head Ms. Timsy Bhatia, allowed students to share innovative ideas on renewable energy and effective climate solutions. The journey concluded with a heartfelt reflection, where our students pledged to be Earth’s young guardians, understanding that every small action contributes to a more sustainable and brighter future.
