To promote awareness about fire safety measures and ensure preparedness during emergencies, DAV Public School, Sector 49, Gurugram, conducted a Fire Safety Awareness Drill on 30th December 2024. The event witnessed active participation from students of Classes VIII to XII. The drill began with an informative session emphasising the importance of fire safety, common causes of fire incidents, and the practical tips on how to prevent and respond to fire hazards. A demonstration on the correct usage of fire extinguishers followed the session. Students were given hands-on training in using fire extinguishers under the guidance of sports team. Safety measures such as identifying emergency exits, evacuation procedures, and the importance of remaining calm during a fire emergency were also highlighted. Students practiced systematic evacuation and assembly at the designated safe zone within the school premises. The event successfully instilled confidence among students and equipped them with essential skills to handle fire emergencies effectively.
