Inter-House Solo Dance Competition – Grades VI to IX

As part of the school’s commitment to promote cultural appreciation and artistic expression, DAV Public School, Sector 49, Gurugram, organised the Inter-House Solo Dance Competition for Grades VI to IX on 4 December 2025. The event was a vibrant celebration of rhythm, creativity, and youthful talent, bringing together enthusiastic participants who lit up the stage with their passion for dance. The competition was divided into three categories: Classical Dance, Folk Dance, and Bollywood Freestyle, each offering students a platform to showcase their skill, discipline, and unique styles. From graceful traditional forms to energetic folk rhythms and dynamic Bollywood moves, the event witnessed a beautiful blend of India’s diverse dance heritage. In the Classical Dance Category, participants mesmerised the audience with expressive gestures, intricate footwork, powerful postures and brilliant stage presence. The winners under this category were: 1st Prize – Mridarth Paul Roy (Jyoti House) & Suchismita Debnath (Shakti House), 2nd Prize – Divyanshi Sharma (Preeti House), 3rd Prize – Ridhima Vashisht (Jagriti House). The Folk Dance Category was a lively celebration of culture, rhythm, and regional traditions. Performers impressed with their energy, colourful costumes, and authentic choreography. The results for this category were: 1st Prize – Shefali Verma (Neeti House) & Om Yadav (Jagriti House), 2nd Prize – Riya (Kirti House), 3rd Prize – Janyaah (Preeti House). The Bollywood Freestyle Category brought the stage alive with its vibrant beats, expressive moves, and dynamic performances. The winners were: 1st Prize – Rudraksh Madan (Shakti House), 2nd Prize – Sarbani Kalra (Jyoti House), 3rd Prize – Saisha (Neeti House), Encouragement Prize – Tanisha (Kirti House). The judges were highly impressed by the students’ confidence, creativity, and command over their respective dance forms. Each performance reflected dedication, rigorous practice, and a deep sense of artistic expression. The competition not only celebrated talent but also encouraged healthy participation among the houses, fostering dedication, teamwork, and cultural appreciation. The event concluded as a truly enriching experience, showcasing the transformative power of the performing arts in shaping young minds and inspiring them to explore their creative potential.
