Makar Sankranti & Lohri Celebrations

Welcoming the New Year with devotion and positivity, DAV Public School, Sector-49, Gurugram, organised a pious 21 Kundiya Hawan on 13 January 2026 to commemorate the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti. The campus was enveloped in a serene and devotional ambience, radiating peace, harmony, and positive vibrations. The celebrations also embraced the vibrant spirit of Lohri. A traditional bonfire was lit, around which rewari, groundnuts, and popcorn were reverently offered to the sacred fire and later shared with everyone present. The serving of food added warmth and joy, fostering a sense of togetherness and festivity.
As a thoughtful gesture of gratitude and care, grains were distributed among the support staff, reflecting the school’s ethos of compassion and inclusivity. The Principal, Ms Charu Maini, extended her heartfelt wishes for the health, happiness, and well-being of all and their families. She inspired everyone to uphold the values of positivity, unity, and gratitude. The celebration beautifully highlighted India’s rich cultural heritage and reinforced the spirit of togetherness, making it a truly meaningful and memorable occasion for all.
