SPIC MACAY KUCHIPUDI DANCE RECITAL
On the occasion of World Dance Day, the school organised a classical dance recital on 27.04.2026 to celebrate and promote India’s rich cultural heritage among students. The highlight of the event was a captivating Kuchipudi performance by the eminent danseuse Vidushi T. Reddi Lakshmi, whose presentation was a fine blend of grace, rhythm, and expressive storytelling, ably supported by a distinguished ensemble of accompanists- Padmashree Guru Jayarama Rao on nattuvangam, Soumya Kannan on vocal, Shri Tanjavur Kesavan on mridangam, and Shri Vignesh on violin. Organised in collaboration with SPIC MACAY, the programme reflected a shared commitment to connecting the youth with classical art forms. The school was privileged to have Rupi Mahindroo, National Vice Chairperson of SPIC MACAY, present on the occasion with her able team. What distinguished the performance was the artist’s thoughtful interaction with the audience, wherein she elucidated the significance of body language, facial expressions, mudras, and gestures as integral elements of classical dance. This insightful narration enabled students to appreciate not only the aesthetic beauty of the performance but also its deeper artistic nuances. Following the performance, she also engaged in an interactive question-and-answer session with the young audience, further enriching their understanding of the art form. In her address, the Principal, Ms Charu Maini, underscored the importance of preserving and nurturing India’s cultural legacy, urging students to remain rooted in their traditions while embracing modernity. The programme concluded on an inspiring note, leaving the audience with a renewed sense of pride in the country’s artistic heritage.
