Educational Trip to Tehri -Kanatal, Uttarakhand
DAV Public School, Sector 49, Gurugram organised a two-night, three-day educational trip for the students of Class XII to Tehri (Kanatal, Uttarakhand) from 28 to 30 April 2026. Accompanied by school teachers, the students travelled by AC coach and arrived at Tehri Retreat in the afternoon. After camp allocation and an orientation session, the day concluded with team-building activities, tea, snacks, a DJ evening, and dinner.
A major highlight of the trip was the visit to the Tehri Dam and Tehri Lake on the second day. During an interactive learning session, students gained valuable insights into the history, construction, and significance of the dam, its contribution to hydroelectric power generation, and the development of New Tehri. Later, students enthusiastically participated in adventure activities such as rope ladder climbing, slithering, valley crossing, and challenge house. The evening concluded with a bonfire, music, and dinner.
On the final day, students undertook a half-day trek to Ghantakaran Point via Dhandachauri, enjoying the scenic beauty and tranquillity of the hills. After lunch, the group began the return journey and reached the school campus safely at night.
The excursion proved to be a memorable and enriching experience. It offered meaningful learning beyond the classroom by enhancing students’ understanding of geography, sustainable development, and environmental awareness, while also fostering teamwork, resilience, and independence
