A CBSE Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on the implementation of Computational Thinking (CT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Grades III to X was successfully conducted by SCERT Haryana at DAV Public School, Sector- 49, Gurugram on 23 May 2026.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from principals, teachers, and educators from various schools, highlighting the growing importance of CT & AI in modern education. The workshop aimed at equipping educators with a deeper understanding of the evolving curriculum framework and effective classroom implementation strategies related to Computational Thinking and Artificial Intelligence.

The session was graced by eminent resource persons including Mr. Sunil Bajaj, Additional Director, SCERT Haryana; Dr. Bhavana Chibber, Principal of Laburnum School and AI & Cyber Ethics Advocate; and Mr. Shunil Tripathi, Career Counsellor, Financial Mentor, and Teacher Trainer for CBSE and SCERT.

The workshop began with an insightful session by Mr. Shunil Tripathi, who elaborated on the CT & AI curriculum framework, pedagogy for Computational Thinking, the role of data, assessment guidelines, and effective classroom implementation strategies. Building further on these concepts, Mr. Sunil Bajaj conducted engaging activities and demonstrated how real-life problems can be solved effectively through Computational Thinking concepts such as Algorithms, Decomposition, Pattern Recognition, and Abstraction. His session emphasized the importance of logical reasoning and structured thinking in enhancing students’ problem-solving abilities. He also encouraged teachers to move beyond the traditional role of instructors and become facilitators who guide students towards independent thinking, exploration, and collaborative learning. Adding further depth to the programme, Dr. Bhavana Chibber highlighted the core concepts of Computational Thinking, including Decomposition, Pattern Recognition, Abstract Thinking, and Algorithmic Thinking, emphasizing the importance of nurturing logical thinking and problem-solving skills among students. She also guided educators on the roadmap for CT implementation in schools and highlighted the inclusion of Computational Thinking in lesson plans to make classroom learning more skill-oriented and application-based.

The workshop proved to be highly informative and enriching for all participants. Teachers appreciated the practical insights, innovative strategies, and interactive sessions that enhanced their understanding of CT & AI and inspired them to implement these practices in their classrooms.
