DAV Public School, Sector 49, Gurugram successfully hosted CONFERENCIA 2026 – The International SDG Conclave on 29 and 30 July 2026, bringing together nearly 600 delegates from over 44 schools for two days of intellectual discourse, diplomacy, and leadership. Organised around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the conclave provided an enriching platform for young minds to deliberate on pressing global and national issues while fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and responsible citizenship.

The inaugural session commenced with a warm welcome to the distinguished guests by the Principal, Ms. Charu Maini. The occasion was graced by Hon'ble Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, Smt. Raj Rani Malhotra Ji; Hon'ble Shri Anil Kumar Rao Ji, Vice President, DAV College Managing Committee; and Hon'ble Smt. Sapna Yadav Ji, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, along with eminent dignitaries, institutional leaders, educators, and delegates.

Addressing the gathering, Smt. Raj Rani Malhotra Ji inspired students to become vigilant, responsible citizens and active contributors towards transforming local initiatives into global models of sustainable development. Smt. Sapna Yadav Ji emphasised the indispensable role of youth in bringing about meaningful societal change and appreciated the school's initiative in nurturing socially conscious future leaders through experiential learning.

Welcoming the participants, Principal and Charge D'Affairs', Ms. Charu Maini encouraged the delegates to make the most of the two-day conclave by engaging in meaningful deliberations, embracing diverse perspectives, and emerging as responsible global citizens. Ms. Pooja Yadav, Supervisory Head and SDG Convener, extended her best wishes to the delegates and motivated them to participate with confidence and uphold the true spirit of diplomacy and the Sustainable Development Goals. Ms. Meenakshi Awal, MUN In-charge and SDG Coordinator, highlighted that these conferences nurture confident speakers, critical thinkers, and future leaders, encouraging the delegates to make the most of this learning experience.

Following the inaugural addresses, Secretary General Eshanya Gogia formally declared CONFERENCIA 2026 – The International SDG Conclave open, marking the commencement of two days of insightful deliberations, diplomacy, and collaborative learning.
