CONFERENCIA 2026 - Valedictory Ceremony
The two-day CONFERENCIA 2026 – The International SDG Conclave, hosted by DAV Public School, Sector 49, Gurugram, concluded on 30 July 2026 with a grand Valedictory Ceremony, celebrating the remarkable journey of nearly 600 participants, including delegates and members of the organising committee, from over 44 schools. The conclave served as a vibrant platform for thought-provoking deliberations on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), fostering diplomacy, leadership, and global citizenship among young minds.
Over the course of the conclave, delegates actively participated in simulated sessions of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), and the International Press. Through debates, negotiations, policy drafting, and resolution building, they demonstrated exceptional research, diplomacy, critical thinking, leadership, teamwork, and communication skills while proposing sustainable solutions to contemporary global and local challenges.
The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries Shri Prabodh Mahajan Ji, Vice President, DAV College Managing Committee and Chairman, DAV Schools, Gurugram, and Justice Dr. Sudhir Kumar Jain, Former Judge, Delhi High Court and Former Principal District & Sessions Judge. Ms. Reena Sharma, Principal, DAV Public School, Sector 14, Gurugram, was also present on the occasion. Their gracious presence added immense prestige to the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Justice Dr. Sudhir Kumar Jain encouraged students to value time, uphold justice, and lead with integrity and compassion. He inspired the delegates to cultivate the habit of reading, make informed decisions, develop strong leadership and communication skills, remain empathetic, and carry themselves with confidence and positive body language. His enlightening address left a lasting impression on the young delegates as they prepared to take on future leadership roles.
A special highlight of the ceremony was the release of Synergy, the official newsletter of CONFERENCIA 2026, prepared by the International Press Committee, which chronicled the memorable moments, insightful deliberations, and key achievements of the two-day conclave.
The event culminated in the Grand Prize Distribution Ceremony, recognising outstanding delegates for excellence in diplomacy, research, negotiation, public speaking, and leadership across various committees. The coveted Best School Delegation Award was presented to Amity International School, Sector-46, Gurugram for its exemplary overall performance and outstanding achievements throughout the conference.
The Green Impact Award, instituted to honour schools demonstrating exemplary commitment to environmental sustainability, was awarded to DAV Public School, Sector-14, Gurugram (First Position), Braham Dutt Blue Bells Model School, Sector-10 (Second Position), and Amity International School, Sector-46, Gurugram (Third Position). The award winners were felicitated by the distinguished dignitaries amidst enthusiastic applause.
Held under the visionary leadership of Principal Ms. Charu Maini, CONFERENCIA 2026 reaffirmed the school's commitment to nurturing informed, responsible, and globally conscious citizens through experiential learning, dialogue, and democratic engagement.
Ms. Pooja Yadav, Supervisory Head and SDG Convener, proposed the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the distinguished guests, participating schools, organising team, and all stakeholders for their invaluable support.
The conclave formally came to a close as Nakshatra Vashistha, Deputy Secretary General, declared CONFERENCIA 2026 closed, marking the successful culmination of two enriching days of diplomacy, leadership, and meaningful dialogue.
