Hindi is the pride of our nation. Taking this pride further DAV Public School, Uppal’s Southend celebrated Hindi Week. The aim of celebrating this week was to make the students understand the importance of Hindi Language in their lives. During the week, various competitions were organized in which students displayed their talent and expertise. Not only this, the students also learned team – spirit and competitive spirit which boosted their confidence.

The students of classes VI to VIII enthusiastically participated in various competitions. ‘DOHA GAYAN PRATIYOGITA’ created an aura of spirituality. The winners were Shradha Jha of VII A from Preeti House, Gurleen of VII D from Neeti House and Shreya of VII E from Kirti House.

“Drama is the best expression of soul”. Keeping this in mind Short Skit Competition titled ‘HUM SAB DRAMEBAZ’ was held. The students of Shakti House stole the show with their display of humor and wit in their skit.

“People admire freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use.” The students got that opportunity and presented their thoughts in ‘ASHU BHASHAN PRATIYOGITA’. All the participants were prompt in expressing their ideas about the topics given to them. The proud winners were Anoushka of VII A from Kirti House, Nipun of VII B from Neeti House and Anusha of VIII C from Jyoti House.

“Poetry is the sweet juice of literary thoughts.” Students of classes VI to VIII showed their extra ordinary literary talents through the poems they wrote in the Poem Writing Competition held for them on the topic 'PRAKRITI'.  Ikshita Sohal of class VIII D from Jagriti House bagged 1st position, Mishthi Kumar of VI E Shakti House got 2nd position and Anoushka Sharma of VII A from Kirti House secured 3rd position. The students of classes IX and XI were adjudged on the basis of what they wrote as an essay on the topic 'DIGITAL INDIA DESH KE VIKAS KI NAYEE UMEED'  and the winners of the event were Jagriti of XI C from Preeti House, Vidushi of XI A from Jagriti House and Geetanjali of IX B from Jagriti House.

“Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.” Amongst the  variety of competitions organized for classes IX to XI ‘SMUH GAYAN PRATIYOGITA’ was the most thrilling one.  Students showed their exceptional talents through their melodious songs. The beautiful song of Neeti house refreshed the mind of audience and brought laurels for the house.

“It is better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it.”  The students of classes IX to XI confidently had a debate on the hot issue ‘AANDOLAN  KE  ROOP  ME AARAKSHAN  KI  MAANG  UCHIT  YA  ANUCHIT’ in which Tanya Yadav of XC from Neeti House bagged the first Prize, Jagriti of XI C from Preeti House and Sumiti of XA from Neeti House got second Prize. Sanchit Gupta of XC from Neeti House was adjudged  the ‘Best Interjector’.

“Acting is not being emotional, but being able to express emotions.” The students of classes IX to XI expressed their emotions and point of view on various social issues through ‘NUKKAD NATAK’. Kirti House became the winner and made us aware with the social evil ‘Dowry System’ which prevails in our society and is a real hurdle for the development of the country. 

During Hindi Week Celebration students participated with great zeal and excitedly helped to make it a great success.
