Event Start Date : 30/08/2018 Event End Date 30/08/2018
‘Recycling takes a little effort on your part, but makes a big difference to the world.’
Dr. Livleen Shukla, Principal Scientist of Microbiology Division, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI PUSA), enlightened the students of our school on composting by using green waste of the school. To create the noticeable difference to the global communities and to save our environment, our school has set up a ‘Compost Pit’ in the school premises. This initiative is a part of Green School Project. For setting up this pit, an awareness session was conducted where Dr. Shukla apprised the students about the benefits of organic farming, hazards of plastic products and how to make compost at home itself. The students got ample opportunities to interact with the resource person and got hands on experience. They also enquired and gained knowledge concerning the use of bio fertilizers, rise in temperature, the sources of carbon and nitrogen during the process of composting. The principal, Ms. Charu Maini thanked Dr. Livleen for rendering moral and selfless services to the school.
