SEWA STRAND FOR DEPRIVED

“For it is in giving that we receive…”

The words rang true when the students of D.A.V Public School, sec-49, Gurugram  got a chance to visit ‘Nayi Disha’ – an NGO dedicated to provide education to deprived children on 07.08.2018. It was an Awareness Drive, in sync with SEWA and the Policy of Inclusion of CBSE & Govt. Of India, in which our students apprised the children and people around about the need to save water, importance of drinking clean water and ways of reusing water. Apart from this, the students also taught the traditional way of water filtration and right hand wash techniques.

It was indeed a learning experience for our students as they understood the importance of appreciating little things in life. They not only played, sang, danced and interacted with the kids there, but also spread awareness about health and hygiene. These children reflect the spirit of life and their stories of hardships tell us not to give up in life and dreams.

Such visits provide young students the opportunity to tide over the insignificant and immaterial things and appreciate the bigger picture. The students were thankful to the school for providing such platform to them which takes care of shaping them into worthy human beings. The children definitely learnt that- Giving is a pleasure.
