DAV Public School, Sector 49, Gurugram | Mega Swachhata Campaign

DAV Public School, Sector 49, Gurugram actively participated in the Mega Swachhata Campaign organised by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram on 1 October 2026 at the World Tech Park Green Belt, Ward 24, Zone 6, Gurugram, under the initiatives ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ and ‘Seva Mera Yogdan’.

Students of Classes XI-F and XII-F, accompanied by Ms. Meenakshi Awal, SDG Cell Coordinator, enthusiastically joined the cleanliness drive and contributed through meaningful shramdaan.

Under the guidance of Principal, Ms. Charu Maini, the participation of Class XII Political Science students became a valuable experiential learning opportunity linked to their CBSE project work on “Environment and Natural Resources.” By helping restore and maintain a public green space, students transformed classroom learning into purposeful environmental action. They developed a deeper understanding of ecological responsibility, sustainable development and the vital role citizens play in creating cleaner, healthier communities.

The campaign was an enriching and inspiring experience, empowering students to recognise that environmental protection is not merely a theoretical concept but a shared civic responsibility requiring active participation, collective effort and sustained commitment.

The initiative also reinforced the spirit of SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, inspiring our young citizens to take meaningful steps towards a cleaner, greener and more sustainable Gurugram. 🌱
