On 23.08.24, DAV Public School, Uppal's Southend, Sector 49, Gurugram, hosted "Eduसृजन," an inter-school competition and exhibition focused on educational toy-making. The event aimed to foster innovation and creativity among students by integrating joyful learning with the school curriculum. The event was graced by the presence of the District Education Officer, Capt Indu Boken, who served as the chief guest. The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Capt. Boken, accompanied by the school's Principal, Ms. Charu Maini, and other distinguished guests, including Mr. Surinder, the District Science Specialist, and Mr. Balwan, the District Mathematics Specialist.

The event saw active attendance from around 60 students and teachers from Government Senior Secondary Schools in Chakarpur and Nathupur. In her welcome address, Principal Ms. Charu Maini emphasized the significance of integrating joyful learning and innovation into the educational curriculum. She highlighted how such initiatives align with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which advocates for creative pedagogy to prepare students for future challenges.

The exhibition was open to the audience and featured impressive presentations by the participating teams. A panel of esteemed jurors, including Mr. Balakiran, a Graphic Gaming Expert, Ms. Dhanwanti from PM Shri GSSS and Ms. Vanshika, a Senior Analyst at Barclays and an alumna of DAV Public School, sector 49, Gurugram; evaluated the entries. The competition was intense, with 12 teams from 10 different schools across Gurugram and neighboring cities showcasing their innovative toys and educational exhibits.

The prize distribution ceremony, conducted by the chief guest, Capt. Indu Boken, was a highlight of the event. In her speech, Capt. Boken congratulated the Principal for organizing such a pioneering event and lauded the participants for their outstanding presentations. She further emphasized the importance of incorporating such creative and innovative practices within the educational framework to better equip students to thrive in an increasingly complex world.

Eduसृजन was indeed a unique event that successfully combined innovation and toy pedagogy, underlining the principles outlined in NEP 2020. The students’ exhibits demonstrated not only their scientific acumen but also their ability to think creatively, making the event a resounding success.
