An Online Performance Enhancement Programme was conducted for Cluster I to V English teachers of classes XI and XII on 19th and 20th September 2024. The English faculty of DAV Public School, Sector 49 Gurugram participated in the two-days program focused on various pedagogical strategies aimed at improving students' language competencies, particularly in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

On the first day, the session began with discussions on innovative methods to enhance speaking skills through interactive classroom activities and peer discussions.  The Master Trainers emphasized the significance of exposing students to diverse audio-visual content to develop these skills.The Question paper pattern and updated typology of questions was discussed. Teachers were introduced to practices that encourage creative and analytical writing, alongside techniques to structure essays and arguments effectively. MLMS and HOTS questions were presented and discussed by the participants.

On the second day of the program, language education and NCF 2023 were discussed to transform language classrooms. Competency-based education was highlighted as a crucial approach to align classroom practices with learning outcomes. Additionally, various reading strategies were shared to help students engage with literature more critically, including summarization, annotation, and thematic analysis. Various activities were suggested offering insights into how to make literature learning more engaging with various pre reading, while reading and post reading activities such as Mind Maps, Graphic Organizers, Key Word Bingo, Jumble Trouble and many more. It was followed by Character Sketch presentations by the participants. Overall, the enhancement program provided valuable tools for teachers to elevate their pedagogical methods, fostering a more comprehensive learning experience for students.
